Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for various construction projects, including earthwork, highways, roads, and wastewater systems.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to understand project requirements and develop accurate cost estimates.
- Review and evaluate project plans and specifications to identify potential cost factors.
- Manage and coordinate the procurement process, ensuring the timely acquisition of materials and resources.
- Participate in project bidding processes, preparing detailed proposals and bid documents.
- Monitor project progress, comparing actual costs with estimates and adjusting project budgets as necessary.
- Provide regular updates and reports to management on project costs and progress.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and contractors to ensure competitive pricing.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in cost estimation techniques.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in cost estimation or a related role in the construction industry.
- Proven experience with project management, contract management, procurement, and project bidding.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and legal regulations.
- Proficiency in estimating software and other industry-related technology.
- Excellent numerical skills and a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to interpret and analyze complex technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of wastewater systems, highways, and roads construction will be a significant advantage.
- Professional certification in cost estimation or project management will be considered a plus.
