About the Job
- BSc/MSc in life sciences, biotechnology, engineering or related discipline, with between 5 to 10 years relevant working experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of equipment lifecycle requirements in a cGMP setting
- Knowledge of GMP, ICH guidelines and regulatory requirements for ATMPs
- Knowledge and experience with computer system validations is an asset
- Result-driven and can-do mindset, without compromising quality and compliance.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Fluent in English.
- Ability to be flexible with changing priorities
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement
- You are authorized to work in the US
- Willing to travel up to 50% (locations include but not limited to Boston, San Francisco, and San Diego)

Base compensation for this position ranges from $90.375 to $150.625 Actual base compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors including experience, qualifications, job-related knowledge, demonstrated skills and geographic location. The company reserves the right to modify base salary ranges at any time.
In addition, this position is eligible for participation in both Galapagos’ performance bonus plan and long-term incentive program. We offer comprehensive and generous benefits and programs to help our colleagues lead healthy lives and to support important moments in life.

For the Galapagos organization in the US, we are looking for a highly motivated Senior Equipment & Systems Specialist to join our team in a 12-month contractor role (with option for contract-to-hire conversion)
Scope of the job
The Senior Equipment & System Specialist will be responsible for initiating and maintaining the overall lifecycle of equipment located at Galapagos in its multiple decentralized facilities throughout the US.
Your role
- Carry out the deployment of new instruments within our Decentralized Manufacturing network
- Oversee and coordinate the qualification and maintenance of manufacturing and QC instruments
- Contribute to the qualification and maintenance of instruments by self perform
- Ensure data integrity and proper user management
- Review and assess technical documentation such as vendor IOQs and PQs
- Write equipment lifecycle related documentation such as Qs, OQs and PQs
- Support root-cause investigations for deviations, determine corrective actions and support implementation of change controls
