Where would you step in?
As a Senior Environmental Scientist - Wetlands, you will join the Wetlands and Ecological Services Group and will work with an experienced team of project managers, scientists, and engineers within our Environment Business Line. You can sit in our Westwood, Boston, Woburn, Cape Cod, or Providence office in an optional hybrid field/home/in-person model.
Our Environment team and projects
Our Environment team is over 100 strong throughout our Northeast offices. The work we do covers wetland and wildlife science, ecological restoration, regulatory compliance, environmental permitting, site assessment, remediation, and other ways we support client work with state and local governments, utilities, private clients, industry, colleges, and hospitals.
What will you be doing?
As a Senior Environmental Scientist - Wetlands, you will be working across all our disciplines with other scientists, engineers, planners, landscape architects, and construction observers to support our clients. You will lead the ecological and permitting components of both coastal and inland projects including resource area delineation, ecological and habitat assessments, permit application preparation and review, mentoring junior staff, working with internal design teams, communicating with clients, presenting projects to regulators, and business development. You’ll be involved in projects from start to finish, beginning with the initial proposal phase, through field assessments, permitting/regulatory coordination, restoration design, and construction and post-construction phase environmental support.
What do you need?
For the Senior Environmental Scientist - Wetlands role, you will need a BS or MS in a natural sciences field, environmental law, planning, or similar field. You will need to have demonstrated ability in wetland delineation, field data collection and analysis, and technical writing skills. As the Senior Environmental Wetland Scientist, you will need to have applied knowledge of Massachusetts and federal wetland regulatory programs, and experience presenting projects to municipal boards. You will need to have prior consulting and client management experience. We prefer candidates with certifications such as Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS), Certified Ecological Restoration Practitioner (CERP), Certified Soil Scientist (CSS), Certified Wildlife Biologist (CWB), or Certified Erosion, Sediment, & Storm Water Inspector (CESSWI).

Individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors; the salary range for this position is $88,000 - $115,000 (compensation may be higher with more experience).
