The Opportunity:
The primary purpose of this position is to provide network support to Sephora Logistics with regards to automation, engineering, controls design and project implementation across the network (6 DCs). This role will be responsible for developing design, documenting (FSD) and implementing automation and controls for systems to include ASRS, AGV’s, Goods to Person, conveyance and sortation related to Logistics and robotics. This role will also include other aspects of physical engineering in the distribution center to include new “green field/” brown field” construction, architectural design and Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP). The role will report to the Director of Engineering.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead strategic network automation installations with focus on advanced robotic technology, to include automated storage and retrieval systems, robotics goods to person pick stations, robotic put walls and high-speed sorters and conveyance.
- Optimize current automation processes within the distribution-order fulfillment centers through the development and implementation of improved enhancements and system controls updates.
- Serve as the primary Logistics liaison with architects, general contractors, and MEP vendors to ensure the construction of DCs and other projects adhere to code and meet deadlines.
- Facilitate weekly project meetings with vendors, general contractors, IT and DC operations to ensure schedule and design is being implemented according to drawings.
- Generate CAD drawings to ensure proper location of IT infrastructure, security camera systems, low voltage and electrical to support DC construction & retrofits.
- Design solutions to operational issues and provide recommendations to improve operations through-put with conveyance and controls enhancements.
- Develop cost benefit analyses and financial models to support the DCs requirements, designs, and alternative selections to existing automation.
- Establish and maintain controls standards and monitoring for all the DCs.
- Ensure automation contracts and agreements are working as expected and annual support audits are performed
- Manage capital improvement projects, including automation and robotics to vet software and execution system.
- Analyze current operating plan to determine opportunities for improving the operations process and workflow
- Collaborate with the operations management team and facilities team to ensure stringent compliance with fire protection, electrical, and mechanical standards for DCs.
- Conduct operations forecasting for staffing, assets, and facility needs to ensure ability to meet service commitment and through-put based on automation performance statement of work.
- Develop and facilitate training for implementation of new automation, hardware, processes, services, and technology to maintain operational effectiveness.
- Maintain DC design on CAD for each of the 6 DCs to include racking, conveyance, sortation, and panels.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 10 or more years of related job experience with key focus on automation, warehouse control systems and conveyance.
- Previous experience with implementing warehouse control systems in a Logistics environment, emphasis on automation and DC build-out.
- Experience with top tier WCS/WMS/WES Labor Reporting Systems, MOST and Standards Pro. Experience with JDA/Blue Yonder, Manhattan or equivalent LMS
- MS Office Suite with strong MS Excel skills, MS Access, CAD and Visio.
- The job will reside in one of our Distribution Centers located in Perryman, Maryland, Las Vegas, Nevada, Salt Lake City Utah, Olive Branch, MS, or Avon, Indiana.
- The job will require 40%-50% travel to various Sephora DCs, site visits, vendor testing centers, and corporate headquarters.
The annual base salary range for this position is $116,800.00 - $151,905.00 The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the applicant’s qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job. Individuals employed in this position may also be eligible to earn bonuses.
