Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Professional Engineer (PE) with specialized expertise in environmental remediation to join our leadership team as the Senior Engineer. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in environmental remediation engineering, exceptional leadership and management capabilities, and the drive to support business development initiatives. This role involves overseeing the engineering group, managing complex remediation projects, ensuring technical excellence, and contributing to the strategic direction of the company.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Leadership & Team Management:
Lead, mentor, and manage a dynamic engineering team.
Foster a collaborative, employee-focused culture, prioritizing professional growth and team development.
Oversee daily operations of the engineering department, ensuring productivity, quality control, and on-time project delivery.
2. Project Management & Technical Oversight:
Lead remediation projects from conception to completion, ensuring all deliverables meet regulatory requirements, client expectations, and high standards.
Provide technical direction and review engineering designs, plans, and reports for remediation systems, environmental site assessments, and related projects.
Manage resource allocation across multiple projects and coordinate with other departments to ensure project timelines are met.
3. Business Development & Client Relations:
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities and partnerships to drive growth in the company’s project portfolio.
Assist in proposal development and preparation of cost estimates for remediation projects.
4. Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance:
Ensure all projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations regarding environmental remediation.
Oversee environmental compliance activities, including monitoring, reporting, and documentation.
Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes affecting remediation projects.
5. Staff Development & Training:
Provide ongoing training and professional development opportunities for engineering staff.
Conduct performance reviews and establish career development plans for team members.
Qualifications:
Required:
Current Professional Engineer (PE) license in at least one of the following states: Pennsylvania (PA), New Jersey (NJ), or New York (NY).
Ability to obtain licensure in all three states (PA, NJ, and NY) within a reasonable timeframe.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in environmental remediation or related engineering fields.
Proven experience in leading and managing engineering teams and projects.
Extensive knowledge of environmental remediation techniques, including soil and groundwater remediation, site assessments, and hazardous materials management.
Strong understanding of federal, state, and local environmental regulations and compliance requirements.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Must:
Experience with environmental consulting firms or similar organizations.
Strong client relationship management skills and business development experience.
Experience managing diverse teams across multiple office locations.
