About the Job
The Senior Engineer of Networks is responsible for design, installation, maintenance and support for all aspects of networks’ administration including security operating systems, server and network hardware, and application interfaces to corresponding components in the network.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Installs, configures and administers complex networks and system components including, but not limited to Cisco Switches, Cisco ASA firewalls, open source and proprietary intrusion detection systems, Windows servers ( 2008, 2012, 2016), Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 and 7, off-the-shelf backup solutions, Dell Poweredge servers, Dell Equallogic PS Series SAN, Dell PowerVault SAN and disk arrays, Citrix ,XenApp Server, Citrix Netscaler application delivery controllers and SolarWinds Network Performance Monitor and Application Performance Monitor.
- Analyzes networks and components for configuration and security compliance requirements to assure confidentiality, integrity and availability of systems. This includes network capacity planning, encryption algorithms, and financial projections for large network configurations.
- Enhances and proactively fixes functionality of existing networks in the role of Tier 3 support by isolating issues to specific software, data or network component.
- Documents configuration details in order to facilitate operation effectiveness among network and server components stakeholders.
- Facilitates network changes by effective communication with internal stakeholders and third-party providers; and assures compliance with change control procedures.
- Provide on-call coverage and/or on-site support during peak election periods as well as during maintenance periods.

Qualifications:
Education: Must have a bachelor’s degree (Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Management Information Systems)
Experience:
At least 6 years experience including:
Network Administration
Security Management
Strong experience installing and maintaining network components
Competencies:
Strong knowledge of mathematical computation for multi-factor equations
Strong written and verbal presentation skills
Strong problem solving/analytical skills
Credibility
Licenses/Certifications:
System Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP) or; Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or;
Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or; Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or;
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or; Cisco Certified Security Professional (CCSP) or;
Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position may guide, counsel and/or mentor less experienced staff.
Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment which routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, and photocopiers; or in an information systems development environment, computer operations facility, data closet, component rack cage and/or similar facilities.

Additionally, may be required to lift up to 60 pounds including placing equipment into “racks” at the height of six (6) feet.
Travel: Approximately 20% travel is anticipated.
