The Desktop Service Engineer Support Engineer will primarily be responsible for the overall maintenance and support of Printing solution in Windows environment, software distribution infrastructure, product lifecycle management, as well as provide senior level operational support.
Required Skills:
The Desktop Service Engineer is expected to provide support and maintenance to all physical architectures on all remote locations as part of the Client, including:
o Regional Client Centers (RCC)
o Area Client Offices (ACO)
o Puerto Rico Client Area Office
o Other designated locations as necessary
• Work with various internal and external teams to plan and execute a large scale printer deployment.
• In-depth experience with automated printer discovery and configuration, leveraging configuration templates and scripted logic to ensure minimal manual intervention
• Develop and maintain technical process and procedure documentation, both wiki-style and formal, including contingency operations.
• Strong technical writing skills, capable of producing clear and detailed design and configuration documentation
• In-depth experience with print queue management and clustered services in highly-available configurations
• Support Enterprise Multifunctional printers, Plotters and injet printers & Faxes.
• Apply best practices, strategies, methodologies, and approaches to systems administration tasks and complex projects
• Defines project requirements by identifying project milestones, phases, and elements; forming project team; establishing project budget
• Experience working with Office productivity tools and desktop management tools is desired
• Monitors project progress by tracking activity; resolving problems; publishing progress reports; recommending actions
Required Skills:
• Expert level experience configuring, managing, and monitoring enterprise print solutions, including Multi-Function Printers (MFPs) and large format printers in a distributed WAN-connected office environment, experience with high-volume copiers a plus
• Knowledge of Windows Print services and ability to deploy printers of various make and models in a large enterprise environment
• Experience with the design and implementation of Group Policy to automatically map user sessions to relevant print resources
• Extensive knowledge of operational technologies, including Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy, print server, encryption, file/share permissions, common Ports, DNS, DHCP and WINS
• Extensive experience with Windows 10 and Windows Server 2008/2012 administration and management
• Proficient administration and troubleshooting of both basic and complex functions related to datacenter management, software configuration, and performance management
• Experience successfully implementing NIPRNET print server environments to allow smartcard(PIV) enabled authentication and job retrieval
• Ability to create print ques and printer templates within Client Web JetAdmin or similar printer management solution
• Intermediate level knowledge of VDI and supporting technologies required for the delivery of virtual desktop services.
• Ability to plan, prioritize, organize, schedule and execute assignments
• Strong analytical skills, with strong problem-solving capability
• Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills and ability to work independently and as a member of a team
• Experience tracking project activity; resolving problems; publishing progress reports; recommending actions.
• Experience preparing technical reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
