About the Job
We are seeking an Engineer to provide engineering support to SAF/AQR (The Assistant Secretary of the Air Force (Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics). This individual must have relevant acquisition systems engineering experience in a System Program Office and/or HAF. Supports the Digital Engineering (DE) and Digital Transformation (DT) team within SAF/AQRE.
The tasks for this position include, but are not limited to:
- Providing engineering assessments of Technical Transition activities to include mission engineering, early systems engineering, experimentation, and prototyping activities.
- Researching and analyzing program trends, identifying issues, and recommending solutions.
- Performing technical studies on individual weapon systems, weapon system integration, and capability areas.
- Analyzing weapon systems architecture and integration and identifying issues.
- Identifying operational deficiencies and other key issues, researching to develop alternatives, and providing recommendations and support for resolution.
- Performing weapon system/technology/cost trade-off studies.
- Reviewing and assessing technical, operational, and management concepts, documents, and specifications.
- Assessing the capability of weapon system design alternatives to provide the required capability.
- Providing expertise on Model-Based Systems Engineering implementation and policy.
- Assessing policy requirements and procedures governing Air Force acquisition engineering and technical services.
- Assessing operating system end-of-life support analysis and recommending strategies to address the impact of weapons.
- Support the development of tools, processes, and practices within SAF/AQR, especially as they relate to DE/DT.
- Help coordinate and sync SAF/AQR responsibilities and activities in DE/DT with other DAF and DoD organizations having related equities.
- Provide technical expertise and critical support to SAF/AQR as it relates to DE/DT.
- 10 years relevant acquisition systems engineering experience
- Master’s degree in Engineering
Work Experience Substitutions:
12 years of relevant work experience may be substituted for a MA/MS degree.
BA/BS degree plus 8 years of relevant work experience may be substituted for an MA/MS degree.
