About the Role:
The Senior Employee Relations (ER) Specialist is responsible for coordinating and providing guidance and strategies for employee relations issues related to company policy and best practices, disciplinary actions, employment laws, and conflict resolution. You will serve as a trusted point of contact for employees regarding workplace concerns. As the Senior ER Specialist, you will provide counsel to management organization-wide on employee relations issues and conduct investigations as needed. This role also coordinates and adjudicates background screening processes, particularly enhanced screenings for areas with access to more sensitive information.
You Will:
Provide counsel to management on employee relations issues.
In consultation with the P&C Officer, HR Business Partners, and Legal, helps oversee employee relations activity including corrective actions, performance issues, employment issues, grievances, and absence/leave management.
Adjudicate background screenings, particularly enhanced screenings for roles with access to particularly sensitive data.
Ensure a fair and consistent approach is applied across the organization.
Build and enhance capability (e.g. leadership, culture, systems, and processes), and mentor and support department employees as well as leadership Bank wide, to foster consistent and fair people practices.
Collaborate with P&C and business leaders to ensure leading practices, programs, or processes are proactively implemented to improve employee relations and achieve effective resolution of issues.
Document and track cases/investigations/incidents to establish clear precedents, identify trends, and partner across the organization to proactively take actions designed to enhance organization effectiveness and the workplace experience.
Consult and partner with P&C groups to influence the development and delivery of people leadership, succession planning, talent management, and performance management projects, initiatives, and training.
You Have:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Law or a related field, graduate degree is a plus.
Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) Certification, Employment Law certification or equivalent preferred; PMP certification is a plus.
Proven track record in complex employee relations issues.
7 years of Human Resources or people leadership experience, with at least 5 years in employee relations and/or EEO, or equivalent relevant experience.
Knowledge of Federal and Texas Employment Law.
Knowledge of how business works and how organizations operate.
High level of discretion and integrity with sensitive and/or confidential information/data.
Ability to mediate agreements among employees and between employees and managers.
Ability to evaluate business plans around Bank/department strategy and organizational structure.
Ability to facilitate discussions on sensitive topics.
Ability to solve unique and complex problems that have broad impact to the business unit/bank.
Excellent communications skills - listening, verbal and written.

Notes:
This position may be filled at various levels based on candidate's qualifications as determined by the department.
This role allows for the employee to work in a hybrid manner with some work conducted onsite at the Federal Reserve work location and some work conducted remotely. Specific schedule details will be discussed during the recruitment process.
