Description
The Sr. Electronics Engineer II is the technical Electronics engineering lead, responsible for new product development, value engineering, and product lifecycle in electronic monitoring and controls equipment. They will have oversight of full development process from concept to a final product as well as transition to manufacturing and lifetime product support. This individual will oversee new product development process including kaizens, FMEAs, ensuring it is on-schedule and within budget. They will be one of the key points in communicating with cross-functional teams such as Software Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing etc. as well as organizational cross-function between Saco, ME and Madison, WI. The Sr. Electronics Engineer II will be the technical lead for all Electronics designs.

Key Responsibilities
- The Sr. Electronics Engineer II will oversee, direct and delegate engineering technical related work including specifications, electronic circuit design, schematics, block diagrams, PCB design & layout, test plans and manufacturing requirements for new product development and value engineering of three different product lines:
- Electric Vehicle Systems Switchgear
- Fuel Management - Automatic Tank Gauge Systems for fuel inventory monitoring and control.

- Works closely with Project Managers, Product Managers and Senior Management. High attention to project scope of work, schedules and customer expectations is a must. Voice of the customer.
- Lead development activities and meetings such as Concept and Design Kaizens, engineering prototype technical reviews, weekly team meetings, and cross functional discussions.
- Take lead in quickly addressing customer complaints, production issues, and part obsolescence as it relates to engineering design.
- Oversee regulatory and compliance activities for new product introduction and product upgrades.
- Communicate effectively with remote cross-functional teams at different locations to drive and complete product development projects
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
Skills & Abilities
- Must be able to proactively resolve issues or problems with both product and personnel in a timely manner
- Lead and Guide DFMA (Design for Manufacturing & Assembly), FMEA (Failure Mode & Effects Analysis) and LEAN Kaizen (change for better) Events
- Must have an eye for detail and be able to identify areas for process/product improvement
- Have a strong mindset for driving Quality in product lines
- Need to have a proven track record of on-time and on-budget project/task completion
- Must be able to provide insightful input to shaping the budget, scope and resource allocation of Hardware Engineering group
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Electronics Engineering discipline (min-preferred)
- Expert in Electronic Design and Manufacturer of Electronic Products (preferred)
- 10-15+ years or more of Electronics Engineering Systems experience:
- Analog electronics design & test
- Digital electronics design & test
- Complex Electro-mechanical systems design
- Electro-mechanical instrument design & electronics packaging
- Integration of software and/or firmware to control/monitor electro-mechanical systems
- Design of experiments/certification testing of products developed
- Experience putting product lines through Quality systems (preferred)
Computer Knowledge/Software
- High level experience in Electronics Engineering tools; i.e. Altium, PSpice
- High level experience Microsoft Project Suite (Office 365)
- High level experience Project Lifecycle Management, Bill of Material (BOM), Agile Project Management tools (Redmine)
- Knowledgeable with Engineering Analysis tools (Matlab, Simulink, Pspice, PSS/E, ETAP, LabView (preferred)
