Senior Electronics Design Engineer – Job Overview:
Applied Concepts has an exciting opportunity at our Richardson R&D facility, where you'll play a crucial role in developing innovative and durable electronic products, including our Speed Enforcement and Intelligent Traffic Systems product lines. You will help leverage our 47 years of technology expertise in Radar, Lidar, and traffic safety to provide our customers with advanced, connected, real-time information systems that deliver value ranging from optimized traffic patterns to life-saving hazard avoidance.
In this role, you will lead the design and development of cutting-edge electronic systems that withstand challenging environments. You'll work with a cross-functional team of experts to deliver innovative solutions spanning the entire product development life cycle, from planning and development to production hand-off and continuous improvement activities. Senior Electronics Design Engineer – How you'll make an impact:
- Work with small, focused, cross-functional teams in the development of products that promote public safety.
- Design, document, and debug ARM based processor platforms for a variety of products, including both RTOS and LINUX operating systems.
- Design power management circuitry and analog circuitry for low power, battery powered systems.
- Identify new technologies and components that keep our products current and competitive.
- Manage your designs through FCC, CE and other regulatory approval processes.
- Lead product level hardware design efforts when required.
- Work with our manufacturing team to get your products produced.
- Work with customers, our sales team, and our marketing team to identify new markets and define new products.
Senior Electronics Design Engineer – What you'll need to succeed:
- A 4-year bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- A minimum of 5 years of recent experience in the design of PCB assemblies
- Proficient with schematic captures tools and processes
- Hands-on knowledge of most general-purpose test equipment.
- Experience working with component vendors, selecting and sourcing components.
