Senior Electrical Inspector – Transit & Rail - Gannett Fleming, Inc.

Gannett Fleming is looking for a Senior Electrical Inspector – Transit & Rail who has the ability to perform electrical inspections for transit and rail projects. 

Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate and detailed daily log of the contractor’s performance and progress including delivery of materials.
• Track field conditions that require deviation from drawings.  Make notes on drawings and communicate with Resident Engineer. (RE to communicate with Client)
• Responsible for monitoring, inspecting and documenting  the progress and quality of all aspects of construction.
• Responsible for communicating with all trades (plumbing, mechanical, fire suppression etc) to coordinate overlapping work.
• Coordinate with the necessary entities to make sure safety standards are being followed.
• Coordinate with the necessary entities to make sure environmental standards are met.
• Compute estimates of work completed and coordinate with the Resident Engineer and Office Engineer in verifying Contractor’s Application for Payment
• Examine workmanship of completed construction for conformity to project specifications and industry standards of construction.
• Other duties as directed by the Resident Engineer.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or NICET-II certification in electrical or acceptable combination of education / years’ experience in
• 10 + years experience on Rail Projects
• Experience with local Rail clients (Amtrak, MTA, NJT) a plus
• Ability to read and understand plans, specifications and shop drawings
• Effectively utilize computer systems and software for documentation and data management like ASITE, Procore, Ebuilder etc.
• Valid driver’s license and access to motor vehicle transportation
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to be flexible with work schedule to accommodate varying shift work (day, evening, overnight, weekends)
