Johnson Service Group (JSG) is recruiting for a Senior Electrical Field Engineer to support the UPF Project in Oak Ridge, TN. This position offers a W2 hourly pay rate, time and a half for overtime, per diem, and mobilization/demobilization.
U.S. Citizenship required.
Our client is targeting $75.00 to $85.00//hour for this role.
Responsibilities:
- Direct preparation of quantity listings of field purchased material and equipment.
- Initiate requisitions for field purchases and perform receipt inspections of materials as required.
- Prepare work packages.
- Assist supervision with the design of temporary construction facilities via field sketches and ensures preparation of "as built" drawings and other job plans.
- Monitor equipment installation and plan for delivery of construction materials and equipment.
- Confirm proper warehousing and storage exists to ensure environmental protection.
- Review specifications, purchase orders, subcontracts, inspection reports, delivery schedules, instruction manuals, and technical data to assist and advise onsite.
- Coordinate with the appropriate site management on activities affecting the contract administration operation.
- Review (as assigned) the preparation of construction estimates, cost, schedules, and budgets.
- Determine that vendors' bids for material and/or equipment are in conformance to specifications.
Coordinate the interfacing between the construction automation plan and the Project Controls program at the job-site. - Review project controls documents on progress relating to cost and schedule.
- Interface with DOE and Y-12 Plant Operations personnel.
- Interfacing with the STRs to support the Subcontractor.
- Reviewing design documents for constructability.
- Material takeoffs.
- Use of SetRoute, BPS, TeamWorks, etc.
- Assist supervision with scheduling work activities.
- Interpreting design drawings/documents.
Education / Experience:
- Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar field.
- 6+ years of experience within DOE, DOD, and/or commercial nuclear construction projects is required.
- In lieu of degree, 12+ years of related experience.
- Working knowledge of current design codes and standards such as NFPA 70-2014, NQA-1 requirements.
- Knowledge of environmental compliance standards required on NNSA/DOE projects.
- Knowledge of Bechtels Zero Accidents safety program.
- Familiarity with nuclear quality and commercial practice standards is desired.
- Must be able to complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Must be able to obtain a site security badge for access to the worksite.
- Must be physically able to conduct field inspections and participate in project walk-downs which may require the following activities: extensive walking in and around a construction site, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, using fall protection and other personal protective equipment (PPE), walking on elevated platforms, walking on uneven surfaces, and maneuvering around very small and/or confined spaces.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Recent commercial nuclear experience at a Bechtel EPC Project.
- Recent experience as an Electrical Field Engineer or Area Lead Electrical Field Engineer.
- Experience reviewing field drawings/plans of different disciplines and may include P&IDs.
- Working knowledge of the Bechtel Standard Work Processes Procedures (SWPPs) and the related Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs).
- Developing construction work packages.
- Familiar with Power BI Database.
- Utilize Project Wise for viewing scoped systems.
- Familiar with Quantity Unit Rate Report, Code of Accounts, and descriptions.
