Job Details:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Estimator to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in our construction projects, providing accurate estimates that will ensure profitability and success. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse range of construction projects, from residential buildings to large-scale industrial facilities. The Electrical Estimator will be responsible for managing all aspects of electrical estimating, including material take-offs, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
Responsibilities:
1. Prepare detailed, accurate and competitive electrical estimates for a variety of construction projects.
2. Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates.
3. Communicate with suppliers, contractors, and clients to gather necessary information for estimates.
4. Manage a team of 2 in the Estimating Department along with the bid process, including the preparation of bid documents, negotiation with suppliers and contractors, and presentation of final bid to management.
5. Evaluate cost-effectiveness of projects and recommend alternatives when necessary.
6. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, cost trends, and the competitive environment to ensure estimates are accurate and competitive.
7. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure estimates align with project plans and schedules.
8. Develop and maintain a database of cost information to be used in future estimates.
9. Review project progress to ensure costs are in line with estimates and identify any potential issues.
Qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in an Estimator role, preferably within the construction industry.
2. Proven experience in electrical estimating for large-scale construction projects.
3. Strong understanding of electrical systems, construction methods, and industry standards.
4. Proficiency in using estimating software and other relevant computer applications.
5. Excellent numerical skills and the ability to produce accurate, detailed work.
6. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build relationships with suppliers and contractors.
7. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly and concisely.
8. Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
9. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically.
10. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field is preferred.
