POSITION TITLE: SENIOR ELECTRICAL ESTIMATOR
REPORTS TO: Chief Estimator
POSITION SUMMARY:Prepare detailed estimates for the project based on the design documents, narratives, and specifications, focusing on the Electrical trade.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
•Performs routine duties independently, using sound judgment, thoroughness, and competence.
•Prepare quantity take-offs, analysis, estimates, and studies for all Electrical items incorporated in the scope from conceptual design through completed construction documents. Preliminary design work may be required to complete conceptual estimates.
•Daily use of Intellibid, Surecount, and Bluebeam.
•Analyze existing site conditions and all contract documents (plans, specifications, etc.) to determine the required scope that is not already indicated.
•May supervise Electrical Estimators and Estimating Assistants.
•Develop working relationships with local material suppliers and equipment vendors to solicit accurate and current pricing of electrical material packages and miscellaneous materials.
•Perform constructability analysis of project documents. Communicate design and constructability issues to the project team per the project contract.
•Ensure general conditions and general requirements items are properly addressed in the estimate.
•Develop a value analysis by defining alternatives to the proposed Electrical systems, materials, and equipment that are more cost-efficient.
•Act as a liaison with engineers, design consultants, JSI staff, client and owner representatives to resolve Electrical issues related to the project preconstruction efforts.
•Prepare estimates and proposals for all contract types including lump sum, GMP, Cost Plus, etc.
•Participate in estimate reviews with the design team and client.
•Lead project hand-off to operations to ensure proper transfer of knowledge from preconstruction to operations.
•Prepare scope requisitions for the bidding/procurement of Electrical systems; coordinate with fellow estimators to eliminate scope gaps and overlaps.
•Lead the evaluation of vendor and subcontractor proposals relative to their scope of work. Determine scope coverage and manage the risk of scope gaps.
•Assist project staff in evaluating large change orders.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
•High School Diploma or GED required.
•Related electrical field experience – journeyman-level experience is a plus.
•Knowledge of the National Electrical Code.
•A minimum of seven (7) years related to electrical estimating experience on projects ranging in electrical value from $50,000 to $10+ million.
•Proven written and verbal communication abilities.
•Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office suite.
•Ability to read, understand, and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project schedules.
•Knowledge and experience on Design-Build projects is a plus.
•Working knowledge of Intellibid, Bluebeam, and Surecount preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
•Performance of the required duties will require physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, passenger use of construction personnel hoists, ability to climb ladders, and negotiate work areas under construction.
•Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
•Performing this job requires the use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, sit, talk and hear, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
