About the Job
The Electrical Design Manager leads and supervises the Electrical team, using extensive technical expertise to provide guidance on complex projects. This role involves managing technical activities, offering innovative solutions, and ensuring successful delivery of assignments with varying requirements.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee the workload and performance of the Electrical Design team.
• Plan, coordinate, and manage electrical engineering tasks, including:
• Lighting systems
• Power Distribution
• Information Technology (Voice and Data)
• Access Control
• Fire Alarm and Electronic Safety/Security for Commercial, Institutional, and Public Facilities.
• Develop and review project proposals, including scope definition, budgets, schedules, and tasks.
• Perform site investigations and provide recommendations to ensure compliance with project standards.
• Guarantee accuracy and code adherence of all contract documents and project reports.
• Participate in project meetings, presenting updates on engineering assignments and progress.
• Serve as a liaison between clients, designers, and contractors for project cost, staffing, and schedule management.
• Assist in compiling project reports, engineering estimates, and supporting data for contracts.
• Identify new business opportunities, assist in marketing efforts, and cultivate client relationships.
• Provide input on team staffing needs, assist in recruitment by preparing job descriptions, reviewing applications, interviewing, and recommending candidates for hiring.
• Occasionally work flexible hours, including nights or weekends, if required.
Essential Qualifications
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in Electrical Engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Proven ability to lead multi-discipline engineering projects as a group leader or project engineer.
• Competency with AutoCAD and Revit for managing and reviewing team deliverables.
• Strong understanding of the National Electrical Code.
• Experience with SKM or ETAP Systems Analysis is advantageous.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, and Word; familiarity with PowerPoint, Project, and SharePoint is a plus.

Licensure
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Professional Engineer licensure in Florida or the ability to obtain licensure within six months.
• Capability to secure licensure in additional states as needed.
Supervisory Role
• Directly manage the Electrical Design team, including engineers, designers, and support staff.
Work Environment
• Primarily office-based in a clean and comfortable setting, with occasional outdoor site visits.
Physical Requirements
• Frequent sitting, occasional standing, walking, and light physical activity.
• Ability to lift or move items up to 40 pounds as needed.
• Requires clear vision, including color perception and focus adjustment.
Equipment and Safety
• Compliance with site-specific safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment such as hard hats, gloves, safety glasses, and other necessary tools.
