About the Role
This role is responsible for employing creative solutions during design and creation of electrical systems that support both new and mature products. The Senior Electrical Engineer will need resolve problems with mature products when they occur, minimizing production disruption due to excessive change, and if scrapping components, to focus on minimizing waste. For new designs, their goal is to maximize product quality, add features without complexity and focus on the impact of cost. They will do this by always promoting the best solution when a problem is discovered along with offering multiple ways of resolving the problem.
The Senior Electrical Engineer role requires an outstanding attitude and excellent communication skills to relay project requirements to junior team members, and to mentor and guide less experienced engineers. Their attitude should be to lead a team and to always encourage innovative thinking, balancing that with the fundamental aspects of design.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems, components, and products, ensuring they meet performance, quality, and safety standards.
- Manage and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams, setting project goals, budgets, and timelines, and ensuring successful project completion.
- Stay current with emerging technologies, trends, and industry best practices, integrating innovative solutions and materials into projects.
- Provide expert guidance in solving complex electrical engineering problems, offering support and mentorship to junior engineers.
- Oversee the creation of prototypes and conduct tests and simulations to evaluate the performance and reliability of electrical designs.
- Develop and implement quality control processes to ensure the reliability and safety of electrical systems.
- Ensure that designs and products adhere to industry standards, safety regulations, and relevant codes.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend efficient design and manufacturing processes.
- Create detailed documentation of designs, plans, specifications, and test results.
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines and departments to integrate electrical systems into larger projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering, with a proven track record of successful projects.
- Proficiency in electrical design software and other relevant engineering tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent project management and leadership abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
- Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and emerging technologies.
- Continuous learning mindset and commitment to professional development.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Base Salary: $134,000 to $146,000
The base salary range represents the low and high end of the anticipated salary range for this position based at our Woodinville, WA headquarters. The actual base salary offered for this position will depend on numerous factors including individual performance, business objectives, and if the location for the job changes.
