This Senior Electrical Engineer will be on a dynamic team, programing undersea systems engineering at our Newport, RI location. Bring your expertise and collaborative skills to make an impact toward our military defense and safety of our sailors.
This position is contingent upon your ability to maintain/transfer your Secret clearance and customer approval.
You will be part of a team that works closely with the customer and other Serco teams to deliver quality systems.
In this role, you will:
- Design, develop, and test all aspects of electrical components, equipment, and machinery. May use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform assignments
- Overall, you will be part of an Engineering team consisting of mechanical and electrical engineers that works closely with the customer in delivering quality products and services to the fleet
- Apply principles and techniques of electrical engineering to accomplish goals
- Have experience/knowledge with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures
- Lead Failure Analysis and corrective Action investigations, as needed
- Provide work leadership for lower level employees
- Support the development and creation of Technical Data Packages for complex systems
- Comply with applicable quality and security procedures in the performance of duties
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with 8-10 years of electrical engineering experience. Military experience may be considered in lieu of degree
- Must have a DoD Secret security clearance
- Experience using Altium or similar circuit design programs
- Experience performing modelling and simulation of electronic systems
- Must be able to travel up to 10%.
Additional desired experience and skills:
- Experience in Navy Defense Systems
- Technical Data experience for complex systems
