Overview
Kimley-Horn has an opportunity for a motivated Senior Electrical Engineer/Senior Project Manager to expand our Solar / Renewables Electrical practice in Boca Raton/Delray Beach, Florida!
Responsibilities
+ Lead the design and analysis of complex electrical systems for solar, renewable generation, battery energy storage, and various other projects
+ Responsible for the development of reports and design documents, including solar photovoltaic electrical site plans, equipment selection, photovoltaic module string sizing calculations, ampacity calculations and wire sizing
+ Conduct or oversee power system studies such as short circuit, thermal ampacity, and load flow
+ Daily interaction and collaboration on multi-disciplinary teams, with interaction across Kimley-Horn offices
+ Prepare project specifications, electrical construction cost estimates, and proposals, supporting the growth of electrical engineering service areas in the local market and across the country
+ Leadership responsibilities include:
+ Operating with integrity and sound business principals
+ Providing vision, business planning and strategy
+ Establishing goals
+ Building and maintaining positive client relationships
+ Having open communication with your partners and team
+ Growing and leading a Solar / Renewables Electrical practice
+ Our Project Managers/Practice Builders manage their projects profitably, transition work to qualified staff, grow and mentor staff, and act as a positive leader and mentor
+ The successful candidate will be given a great deal of autonomy to lead, direct, and grow their business
+ With success, this individual will enjoy the rewards of an impressive bonus program with the potential to advance to ownership
Qualifications
+ 15 years+ of relevant experience managing Electrical projects
+ Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) license preferred
+ Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
+ Firm understanding of the National Electrical Code, National Electrical Safety Code, IEEE and ANSI Standards
+ Ability to effectively communicate positively at all levels of the organization
+ Ability to manage and mentor staff, and direct resources effectively in a positive manner
+ Demonstrated ability to manage projects profitably
+ Proficiency in training others in Computer-Aided Design and Drafting (AutoCAD)
