Job Description:
Immediate need for an Electrical Engineer with a proven interest in building design and sound knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals. This position is located in the Philadelphia office and will support projects in PA and NJ. MUST be in-office daily.
Responsibilities:
- Design Power, Lighting, Fire Alarms, Telecommunications including all associated circuitry, details, one-line diagrams, and specifications.
- Perform system design calculations, load calculations, arc flash and fault current, lighting, and any other calculations required.
- Prepare electrical construction documents, including drawings, specifications, and reports.
- Projects are for retail, commercial, multifamily, healthcare, and institutional markets.
- Review electrical documents for areas of conflict with all building systems.
- Participate in the selection and specification of all appropriate equipment.
- Coordinate work with engineers of other disciplines and architects.
- Attend meetings and communicate with clients.
- Manage projects and monitor quality of work.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum of 8 years professional experience; 8-12 years (not 20) designing electrical systems for commercial, multifamily, healthcare, and institutional projects.
- AutoCAD required; Revit desired.
- EIT or PE license a plus, or desire to obtain a license, LEED accreditation desirable.
- Proven experience with A/E or MEP firms.
- Strong fundamental understanding of the NEC, as well as the International Building Codes.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
- Ability to multi-task with multiple projects to meet strict deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and in writing.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
