Senior Electrical Engineer - LHH

LHH Recruitment Solutions has an opening a Senior Electrical Engineer for our client in the Bohemia, NY area. This direct hire role allows you to expand your engineering career within a state-of-the-art technology organization. This on-site position requires a minimum of five-years current experience and a proven high proficiency in working with high voltage (440kV+). Successful candidates will have several years utilizing AutoCAD and MS Dynamics. Candidates with MUST have high voltage experience in power generation systems/generators/advanced power systems and proficiency in soft switching techniques, PCB layouts, and schematics capture.

Salary range: $115,000.00 - $120,000

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Collaborate continuously with the Mechanical, System Engineering teams responsible for the design of high voltage power applications used in NDT/X-Ray and electronic circuitry.
2. Install, wire and configure electrical, into new and existing inspection systems.
3. Collaborate with technical personnel to design, create and modify prototype models.
4. Review engineering drawings and designs to ensure compliance of internal guidelines, quality standards and national codes and standards.
5. Create, revise, and finalize BOMs.
6. Work with Production, Design & Installation teams to revise drawings and generate final as built package.
7. Provide support to Technical Writing and Project management Teams in the creation of technical documentation, system manuals, and customer facing documentation.
8. Test, troubleshoot and debug electrical, components and systems in-house and at customer locations.
9. Collaborate with engineering teams (mechanical, electrical, software, imaging) to help resolve customer problems.
10. Ensure all work is completed in compliance with all applicable local, state, federal Electrical standards.
11. Able and willing to travel to customer sites or other company locations worldwide (approximately 20%)

REQUIREMENTS:

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
2. Required – high voltage experience 400kV+
3. Must have Five (5) years of electrical electro-mechanical system design experience.
4. Proficient level of expertise in AutoCAD.
5. Prior experience in soldering required.
6. Experience working with and generating BOMs within an MRP or ERP system, preferably MS Dynamics.
7. Experience in power generation systems/generators/advanced power systems required.
8. Previous experience troubleshooting electrical circuits.
9. Proven expansive knowledge of electrical circuitry.
10. Working knowledge of established electrical safety work protocols and practices and ability to read electrical diagrams.
11. Must have prior experience working with test equipment.
12. Must have familiarity in soft switching techniques, PCB layouts, and schematics capture.
13. Working knowledge of CANbus, Controller Area Network (CAN) for real-time control system applications as well as a high proficiency with motor drives (Copley), PLC (Allen Bradley, Siemens) and PC based control systems.
14. Working knowledge of Pneumatic Actuator Control and Relay Logic.
