LHH Recruitment Solutions has an opening a Senior Electrical Engineer for our client in the Bohemia, NY area. This direct hire role allows you to expand your engineering career within a state-of-the-art technology organization. This on-site position requires a minimum of five-years current experience and a proven high proficiency in working with high voltage (440kV+). Successful candidates will have several years utilizing AutoCAD and MS Dynamics. Candidates with MUST have high voltage experience in power generation systems/generators/advanced power systems and proficiency in soft switching techniques, PCB layouts, and schematics capture.
Salary range: $115,000.00 - $120,000
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate continuously with the Mechanical, System Engineering teams responsible for the design of high voltage power applications used in NDT/X-Ray and electronic circuitry.
- Install, wire and configure electrical, into new and existing inspection systems.
- Collaborate with technical personnel to design, create and modify prototype models.
- Review engineering drawings and designs to ensure compliance of internal guidelines, quality standards and national codes and standards.
- Create, revise, and finalize BOMs.
- Work with Production, Design & Installation teams to revise drawings and generate final as built package.
- Provide support to Technical Writing and Project management Teams in the creation of technical documentation, system manuals, and customer facing documentation.
- Test, troubleshoot and debug electrical, components and systems in-house and at customer locations.
- Collaborate with engineering teams (mechanical, electrical, software, imaging) to help resolve customer problems.
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with all applicable local, state, federal Electrical standards.
- Able and willing to travel to customer sites or other company locations worldwide (approximately 20%)
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
- Required – high voltage experience 400kV+
- Must have Five (5) years of electrical electro-mechanical system design experience.
- Proficient level of expertise in AutoCAD.
- Prior experience in soldering required.
- Experience working with and generating BOMs within an MRP or ERP system, preferably MS Dynamics.
- Experience in power generation systems/generators/advanced power systems required.
- Previous experience troubleshooting electrical circuits.
- Proven expansive knowledge of electrical circuitry.
- Working knowledge of established electrical safety work protocols and practices and ability to read electrical diagrams.
- Must have prior experience working with test equipment.
- Must have familiarity in soft switching techniques, PCB layouts, and schematics capture.
- Working knowledge of CANbus, Controller Area Network (CAN) for real-time control system applications as well as a high proficiency with motor drives (Copley), PLC (Allen Bradley, Siemens) and PC based control systems.
- Working knowledge of Pneumatic Actuator Control and Relay Logic.
