Payrate: $86/hr to $100/hr. on W2
Job Summary
Client is seeking a technical expert to act as technical leader for a project to deliver a precision DC subsystem. With the larger project team, the candidate will drive the concept, design, implementation, and release to production of the subsystem. This role is on a contract basis at Client in Agoura Hills for the duration of the project.
Typical design challenges at Client include power and low noise amplifiers, high density POLs, high speed digital, high performance data converters, system design, thermal design, high precision/accuracy designs, complex calibration schemes, design for reliability, design for cost targets, and driving system level trade-offs.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include all aspects of instrument design from concept, prototyping, simulation, schematic and layout, verification, documentation, and release to manufacturing.

- Excellent communication skills at all levels of abstraction from technical details to the big picture
Basic Qualifications & Skills
- Proven track record of completing multiple product design cycles from concept to high volume production
- 10+ years of relevant industry experience
Education
- BSEE or MSEE or equivalent experience

Experience with many of the following areas:
- New product development with complex designs and PCBs, high precision analog, high speed design, complex mixed signal
Analog/Mixed Signal PCB Design/ Circuit experience with one or more of the following:
- Precision DC Test Instrument Design
- Component-level Experience w/PMU, SMU or similar technology
- Proficiency with circuit simulation (e.g. PSpice, LTSpice, ADS)
- Low Noise PCB Power Structure Design
- Analog filter design
- Low noise amplifier design
- Thermal Management and Mechanical Fundamentals
PCB Design and Layout Tool Experience
- Schematic Capture
- Floor Planning and Component Placement
- PCB Materials and Board Stack-up
- PCB Layout
- PCB CAD Tools (Cadence tools: Design Entry HDL/System Capture, Allegro preferred)
Design Verification Experience
- Test Plan Definition & Execution
- Board Bring Up, Debug and Troubleshooting
- Competence with standard lab equipment (meters, scopes, power supplies)
- Integration into overall system
Nice to Have
- Basic understanding of the ATE industry
- High performance instrumentation design
- FPGA Design (Verilog)
- Experience in Python, C/C++
- Development of calibration algorithms
- Control loop theory and stability
- Mitigation of system level conducted/radiated noise issues
- High speed signal integrity, power integrity
- High speed protocols (PCie), DDRx memory, and clocking
- HW error budgets using statistical analysis techniques and calibration strategies
