Senior Electrical Designer
Location: Kansas City, MO
Salary Range: Up to $140,000 - $150,000 Base + Bonus
About the Role:
We’re seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Designer to join our dynamic team in Kansas City, MO. This role focuses on designing and producing complex electrical models, drawings, and circuit routing for industrial and power projects using AutoCAD 3D. As a Senior Electrical Designer, you will work collaboratively with engineers and project managers, tackling unique challenges with innovative solutions to deliver quality results on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create 3D electrical raceway models, design drawings, and circuit routing for power and industrial projects using AutoCAD 3D.
- Develop comprehensive Electrical One-line, Three-line, and Relaying Diagrams based on input from design engineers.
- Perform design calculations, layouts, and problem analysis for non-routine, complex assignments.
- Produce accurate designs and make revisions as needed, ensuring compliance with codes and regulations.
- Plan, organize, and store project drawings, files, and related information logically and securely.
- Collaborate with the electrical team on proposals and project deliverables.
- Maintain clear and concise communication with project clients and stakeholders.
- Ensure quality assurance of design drawings within the project’s scope, budget, and deadlines.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years of experience as an Electrical Designer, with at least 5 years focused on power plants.
- Expertise in Electrical One-lines, raceway, and cable routing design for power plants, including boiler applications.
- Knowledge of Steam and Gas Turbine Generators, 480V & 4160V Equipment, Generator Step-up Transformers, and other power plant equipment.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD 3D and advanced design tools, with the ability to work in both 2D and 3D environments.
- Strong skills in design calculations, layouts, and drawing production.
- Familiarity with relevant design codes, rules, and regulations.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment to resolve design or drawing challenges.
- Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a positive attitude.
Preferred Skills:
- Advanced knowledge of design systems, software tools like Excel, and the ability to learn new platforms.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
