Senior EHS Engineer

What you’ll be doing:
- Lead Safety and Environmental Audits, Ergonomic Assessments, and Industrial Hygiene Monitoring.
- Investigate accidents/incidents and deliver targeted Safety and Health Training sessions.
- Submit actionable recommendations to address deficiencies, mitigate hazards, and enhance programs and processes.
- Design and oversee safety and environmental training initiatives.
- Drive compliance with corporate safety, health, and environmental policies and local, state, and federal regulations.
- Implement and track health, safety, and environmental metrics; analyze data to reduce risk.
- Identify and mitigate risks at local facilities through onsite evaluations, Job Hazard Analysis (JHAs), and risk assessments.
- Ensure robust emergency response mechanisms are in place; participate in emergency preparedness and response activities.
- Offer safety, environmental health guidance, and operational support across all organizational levels and functions.
- Foster close relationships with Loss Prevention teams, safety committees, and local business leaders.
- Mentor and guide other Safety and Environmental Health team members.
- Maintain updated knowledge on all safety and environmental regulations.
- Handle workers’ compensation cases when necessary.
- Keep updated all federal, state, and local safety and environmental health permits.
- Undertake additional duties as aligned with the role and responsibilities.
Qualifications:
- Mandatory CSP Certification is strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Safety, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of hands-on experience in EHS roles with a pronounced focus on safety.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing setting is advantageous.
- Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and federal/state regulatory compliance.
- Must be willing to train as a certified First Responder and address emergencies, including after-hours.
- Availability to travel for a minimum of one week per month.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word).
- Demonstrated ability to educate, influence, and align employees with corporate objectives.
- Adept at maintaining discretion and confidentiality.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, work independently in a dynamic environment, and utilize logical problem-solving skills.
