Nature and Scope
Reports to the Senior Vice President - Policy & Economics, overseeing project management without direct supervision of staff.
Principal Accountabilities
Utilize advanced econometric techniques to analyze complex data sets for AAR's advocacy. Manage big data using software like R, Python, or Stata, developing economic models. Conduct economic analysis to support AAR's policy positions. Synthesize findings into reports and presentations for stakeholders. Engage with industry groups and government agencies to share insights. Contribute to shaping the future of the rail industry. Influence industry policies for sustainable transportation.
Requirements
QualificationsPh.D. in Economics preferred, focusing on Industrial Organization or econometrics. 7+ years of economic research experience, especially in regulated industries. Strong analytical skills and ability to work independently and in teams. Proficient in R, Python, or Stata, with experience in large data sets. Excellent communication skills for presenting complex analyses clearly.
