Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP, a global Am Law 50 firm, is seeking an experienced Senior E-Billing Coordinator to join our Billing Department.
This position can be based in any of the following offices: Downtown Los Angeles, Century City, Orange County, San Diego, Del Mar, San Francisco, or Silicon Valley. There is only one opening.
We have an opening for a full-time Senior Electronic Billing Coordinator with heavy focus on insurance company e-billing. Qualified candidates will have billing experience with Aderant Expert, and electronic billing experience with various e-billing vendors. Excellent communication and organization skills and are required, as this position requires interaction with senior management, partners, clients and vendors.

- Setting up implementation for ebilling insurance matters in Aderant Expert, BillBlast and assigned ebilling vendor portals
- Maintain timekeeper and budget information within ebilling vendor portals
- Submit invoices electronically through multiple ebilling vendor portals
- Follow up on invoice rejections and reductions by communicating with clients, attorneys and secretaries and submit appeals for reductions
- Track billing and payments for various matters in Microsoft Excel
- Track invoices received for electronic submission to ensure completion
- Provide comprehensive reporting
- Work overtime when needed
- Assist with e-billing implementation for new clients
- Provide back-up support for entire E-Billing team
Essential Functions of Job:
- Communicate with attorneys, practice specialists, insurance carriers, clients and team members via phone and email
- Taking control and tracking the set up for insurance matters via Excel stored in Netdocs
- Accessing various ebilling sites for invoice submission, timekeeper rate approval and budget submission
- Provide back-up support for the ebilling team when needed
Qualifications and Experience
- 5 years of billing experience using Aderant Expert
- 3 years of electronic billing experience using various e-billing vendors (i.e. Legal Tracker/Serengeti, LexisNexis CounselLink, Mitratech Collaborarti, Tymetrix 360, Wolters Kluwer Passport, Allegient Legal-X, Bottomline Legal eXchange, CounselGo/SimpleLegal, Ascent doeLegal, CSC Matter Management, Onit/BillingPoint, Corridor Bridgeway and Legal Suite Solutions)
- Experience with the BillBlast is preferred
- Experience and strong understanding with ebilling insurance companies
- Basic typing skills (at least 40 wpm)
- Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to work well independently and in a team setting
- Excellent organization, communication and follow-through skills
- Ability to prioritize and complete tasks within established deadlines
Education
Required: High School Diploma
Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree

Work Environment
- The current Firm policy is hybrid–working in the office a minimum of 3 days per week and working from home the rest of the week (subject to change).
- Overtime will be required as job duties demand.
California: The pay range for this position is $41.00 to $49.00 per hour.
