We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Senior Distribution Design Engineer to join our team at K&A Engineering remotely in the Philadelphia, Delaware, DC area! In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting and challenging projects that make a real impact in the energy and utility sectors. Role Expectations:

• Leads projects and project team in the execution of several mid-to-large scale projects 
• Execute complex designs for overhead and underground power installations; work on challenging assignments that include investigating, troubleshooting, and solving a wide variety of overhead/underground distribution engineering and constructability related issues; and lead projects
• Execute complex designs for overhead and underground power installations
• Communicates and coordinates project activities with internal team members
• Charged with ensuring projects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within budget
• Perform independent reviews of work performed by others including calculations and drawing preparation
• Perform Quality Assurance (QA) design reviews and Peer Reviews for all project documents
• Performs peer reviews and mentors project team members
• Assists in the preparation of scoping documents and fees
• Prepares and reviews project drawings
• Resolves design questions and technical concerns
• Provides excellent client/customer service
• Promote a proactive safety culture by encouraging open communication, reporting unsafe conditions, and suggesting improvements to safety practices.
• Diligently ensure compliance with safety regulations, conducting safety inspections, and identifying potential hazards to mitigate risks and maintain a safe working environment for all personnel.

What we’re looking for:

• BS degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from an accredited university
• 6+ years minimum of experience with Distribution Design, PECO experience preferred
• Knowledge of industry codes and standards
• Ability to interface effectively with clients, employees, and management team is essential
• Motivated to continually take on more responsibility and lead the team
• Proficient with AutoCAD or MicroStation
• Locals to Philadelphia, DC, Delaware and Virgina area are preferred
