About the Job
The Senior Director, Global Pricing, under direction from VP Global Pricing, leads a function that collaborates with value leaders to establish recommended global pricing policies for launch compounds for Oncology Solid Tumor and Neuroscience. The global pricing function is accountable for conducting & analyzing pricing benchmarking research, payer research, and through input/negotiation with regional leads to recommend a pricing policy & strategy for each compound/NBD asset. They are then required, with the regional pricing leads & operating company staff to ensure pricing policy and strategy is implemented and tracked. Internally, the Senior Director, Global Pricing will work with the value leaders for compounds and the relevant TA value lead, forecasting and market research, and regional/operating company pricing representatives. Externally, he/she will oversee work with specialized contractors of pricing research, payer advisory boards and technical leaders in the field of pharmaceutical pricing. The ability to drive collaboration across internal functions, geography, J&J operating company, and with external vendors. This individual must have the leadership to build and maintain a function with deep technical expertise in pricing strategy and price setting, that leverages and compliments operating company and internal expertise, as well as the market research and forecasting functions within GCSO. This function is considered as a business-critical function.
The Senior Director is responsible for senior level value assessment of pricing strategy and price setting of compounds in development including NBD assets, considering market access strategies and pricing strategies & guidance of key acquisition / development decisions based on senior level pricing strategy. Manages, leads and develops a function developing and implementing pricing strategies & submissions that will provide value realization for our products. Provide senior management with relevant pricing and reimbursement information, support and recommendations. Participates in internal forums and external environment activities to help shape internal and external policies and best technical practices in the area of pricing and value realization for key products.Education:
- Required: Bachelors Degree
- Preferred: A minimum of a Master's or PhD in a related field (Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Business Administration, Market Research, or an applicable field).
- A minimum of 12 years' experience in pharmaceutical pricing, pricing research, economics or finance, or related industries/areas is required.
- Strong understanding of the pricing and reimbursement systems and innovative pricing models.
- Experience in a global, multi-cultural or multi-country environment is preferred. (US and German market experience is preferred.)
- Expert level of strategic, analytic, commercial, R&D acumen, environment shaping, influencing and negotiation skills are required.
- The Senior Director, Global Pricing is a key role within the global pricing organization with a key responsibility to lead a function developing the go to launch pricing strategy for pharmaceutical products and thus must exhibit strong technical skills, business acumen, deep and sound functional expertise in Pricing, Health Economics and Market Access. Ability to lead people in different locations will be needed. Significant travel up to 30 % including requirements for meetings and coaching operating companies at a global scale are required.
