The Senior Director for Family Services oversees key service programs, including Home Visiting Programs, Clinical Services, and Family Support Services. This role is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, and day-to-day management of these programs, ensuring high-quality service delivery, regulatory compliance, and fiscal responsibility. The Senior Director will collaborate with executive leadership, department managers, staff, and external partners to enhance program effectiveness, expand community engagement, and drive continuous improvement. This position requires expertise in managing multidisciplinary teams, clinical and non-clinical service integration, and program development.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Working closely with the Vice President for Family and Youth Services, provide leadership and strategic direction for family services programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Contribute to the development of organizational strategy, including marketing and resource development.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve program enrollment, service delivery, and fiscal performance in collaboration with program directors and stakeholders.
- Work to integrate family services with other Catholic Charities divisions, creating a client-centered approach.
- Provide leadership and supervision to program managers and staff across multiple service lines, including Healthy Families, Family Support Services, and clinical programs.
- Lead recruitment, training, mentoring, and performance management of staff to promote teamwork and high service standards.
- Facilitate staff meetings, case conferences, and training sessions to foster team cohesion and professional development.
- Supervise the clinical intake process and integrate clinical services into broader agency programming.
- Resolve client grievances and operational challenges, ensuring staff can manage crises and provide appropriate interventions.
- Oversee clinical and non-clinical aspects of programs, ensuring quality standards are met through case reviews, performance evaluations, and proper documentation.
- Ensure program compliance with regulatory agencies, including the Department of Public Health and Department of Children and Families.
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality assurance standards, including biannual quality meetings and high-risk client reviews.
- Monitor emerging trends, legislative changes, and best practices to drive program improvement.
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures that align with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to agency initiatives such as grant writing, strategic planning, and policy development.
- Promote and expand program services within the community by building relationships with key stakeholders.
- Manage program budgets in collaboration with the finance department to ensure resource efficiency and adherence to fiscal guidelines.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of program outcomes, fiscal performance, and regulatory compliance to senior leadership.
- Work is performed in an office setting and various program locations. Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required for on-call emergencies, meetings, or community outreach. Regular travel between program sites is required.
- Attendance at meetings and trainings
- Travel locally as needed for program oversight and client support.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree in social services, clinical psychology, or a related field. Licensure in a relevant field (e.g., LICSW, LMHC, Ph.D.) is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in clinical and/or family services management, with a proven record of leadership and program growth.
- At least 5 years of senior-level supervisory and managerial experience.
- Proven experience in managing diverse teams, clinical supervision, and program development.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations affecting home visiting, mental health, and family support services.
- Demonstrated ability to manage program budgets, oversee fiscal operations, and ensure the financial sustainability of programs.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders, staff, and the community.
- Experience in crisis intervention, conflict resolution, and high-risk client management.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and work under pressure.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, remote technologies, and other relevant software platforms such as Zoom and Teams.
- Access to reliable transportation for local travel and program oversight.
