Job Summary and Qualifications
JOB SUMMARY
HCA Healthcare’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Solutions IT organization is seeking a Senior Director of Enterprise Financial Applications responsible for leading the strategy, implementation, and management of financial systems on a global scale. This role plays a pivotal part in transitioning from legacy, disparate ERP and financial systems to a unified, cloud-based enterprise ERP solution. The individual will ensure that financial systems are secure, scalable, and compliant with both local and international healthcare and financial regulations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing financial IT infrastructures within large, complex global organizations, and will drive digital transformation initiatives across the organization.
The Senior Director, Enterprise Financial Applications will lead teams who assess business strategies and requirements, develop product technology roadmaps, and deliver modern platforms, product components, product configuration and deliverables on time and within budget. He/she will define business cases inclusive of value attribution and budget needs, product technology roadmaps, and provide direction and priority to delivery teams. Their teams will be responsible for sizing overall opportunity, impact and full potential for new product features. The role requires driving alignment across financial capability business owners and IT teams across the Enterprise.
The candidate should demonstrate an understanding of complex ideas, set and broadly communicate a product technology strategy, and meet the needs of the team and stakeholders. This role requires attentive listening and demonstrating a strong executive presence as they will routinely meet with senior-level business executives and present to large audiences. The Senior Director, Enterprise Financial Applications will perform all duties with a focus on quality of work, attention to detail and a high level of self-management and self-awareness.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
30% Leadership
- Use product and technical expertise to expose trends and influence decisions for our stakeholders
- Communicate effectively for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Cultivate a motivating environment that brings out the best in people and improves performance of others
- Advocate on behalf of delivery teams/individual contributors when concerns or issues arise
- Build healthy trust and partnership relationships with staff, leadership, stakeholders, peers, and vendors
- Work with leadership in resolving conflicts involving staff, vendors, stakeholders, and business partners
- Enable excellent cross-team/functional communication with technical stakeholder teams across the Enterprise
- Lead and mentor a global team of IT professionals, including system administrators, developers, analysts, and support staff, through the ERP transformation process
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement, ensuring the team stays up to date with global ERP and healthcare technology trends
- Allocate resources efficiently across global teams, balancing project demands with operational needs
- Manage relationships with vendors and ensure effective collaboration throughout the implementation and support of cloud-based ERP solutions
30% Strategy & Planning
- Develop and execute a global IT strategy to transition from legacy ERP systems to cloud-based enterprise ERP solutions, aligning with the healthcare organization’s financial and operational goals
- Lead the transformation of financial systems across multiple regions, ensuring they meet the needs of various regulatory environments, including finance and healthcare-specific compliance standards (SOX, IFRS, GAAP, PCI DSS, HIPAA, GDPR, etc.); integrating audit controls and reporting mechanisms into the ERP system
- Collaborate with global finance, operations, and healthcare leadership to identify and implement technology-driven financial process improvements
- Collaborate with technology, and product management teams across HCA to set and evangelize product technology vision, strategy, metrics and roadmaps while influencing measured successful product and feature rollouts
- Influence conceptualization and development to produce high-quality digital products that provide measurable business value
- Serve as the Financial systems primary point of contact between global IT, finance, and healthcare leadership, ensuring alignment of goals and strategies during the ERP transformation
- Negotiate service level agreements (SLAs) that meet the global scale and specific needs of the healthcare organization
40% Delivery & Execution
- Lead the global implementation and migration from disparate legacy ERP and financial systems to a unified cloud-based enterprise ERP platform, ensuring a smooth transition across regions
- Design and execute global project plans, coordinating efforts across multiple countries and time zones to ensure on-time, within-budget implementation
- Ensure integration of financial modules with other enterprise systems, such as electronic health records (EHR), across the entirety of the healthcare system
- Oversee data migration, ensuring consistency, security, and accuracy of financial and healthcare data during the transition
- Manage system performance during rollouts, and establish robust post-implementation support structures for international teams
- Drive automation of financial workflows and optimization of processes, ensuring that healthcare organizations benefit from operational efficiencies and cost savings.
- Develop and implement global security protocols to protect sensitive financial and patient-related healthcare data within the cloud-based ERP systems
- Lead risk management and mitigation efforts on a global scale, including disaster recovery and business continuity planning for healthcare financial systems
- Engage with senior leaders across the globe to provide regular updates on project timelines, budgets, and key milestones
- Collaborate with international teams to adapt financial systems to the specific needs of each region, including regulatory requirements and healthcare-specific challenges
- Monitor and act on product performance data (e.g., delivery, financial, and operational) to identify opportunities for improvement
- Work with finance, product colleagues and operations teams to ensure a collaborative approach to financial viability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement
- Support proactive issue resolution and productive problem solving when concerns arise around product design and business processes
- Continually improve ERP systems using measured KPIs and OKRs
- Ability to understand technical challenges and make educated trade-offs with team; know technical workflows, needs, value drivers, and decision-making process, to deliver product intent and goals
