Astroscale U.S. Inc. is currently seeking a Senior Director of Business Development, National Security to join our team in our Washington, DC or Denver, CO locations. This is a key member of the Astroscale US team and reports directly to the Senior Vice President, Business Development & Advanced Systems.
Job Description
- Lead Astroscale U.S.’s business development team and oversee direct and indirect sales activities with US national security and intelligence agencies.
- Direct the activities of the growing National Security business development team
- Grow and develop team members through coaching and mentorship, including creating and implementing training programs to enhance employee skills and career growth.
- Develop and execute the commercial sales strategy for national security, including account plans, go-to-market channels, contracting vehicles, and sales enablement tools.
- Create sales forecasting, manage the team to a sales budget, and deliver revenue.
- Develop and present bid/no-bid strategies, and support proposal planning, preparation, and submission.
- Collaborate with Policy, Government Relations, and MarComms teams to effectively build policy framework for sales.
- Represent Astroscale U.S at industry conferences and customer meetings.
- Develop reporting tools and brief senior leadership on the status of sales execution, including on a quarterly basis.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 10 years of sales and sales management experience, including at least 5 years in aerospace or related technology sector.
- Demonstrated success in mentoring and coaching team members, with the ability to set clear performance expectations and provide constructive feedback.
- Experience in fostering a positive and collaborative team environment.
- Demonstrated experience developing a pipeline of customer opportunities in an emerging technology market.
- Experience developing customer engagement strategies, shaping and closing deals with customers.
- Excellent negotiation, writing, presentation, and communication skills with experience presenting to a variety of audiences, including executive leadership and customers.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance, if required.
- Domestic and international travel may be up to 50% of the time.

Salary range: $200-235k. The salary range represents the low and high end of the Astroscale U.S. Inc. salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, knowledge, and ability as applicable to the role.
