JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for supporting the Domestic and International Call Center Sales and Service teams for all NCLH brands. Own novel BI/Data warehouse projects and administrative/operational tasks ensuring no delays in sales operations. Leverage existing and create new data analytics to maximize sales and create new solutions for operational needs. Develop, refine, and assist in dataset management and visualization solutions; including but not limited to database querying, performance optimization, ETL(s), reporting, and dashboards.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as the technical SME, sharing knowledge and best practices, empowering the team to meet its recurring tasks and/or project deadlines while maintaining data integrity and prioritizing accordingly.
- Develop and triage issues within the department's support tables and applications, ensuring all reporting, incentives, and mapping are updated accurately.
- Proactively and continuously evaluate existing SQL scripts to fully optimize and refine performance, lowering delivery cost and reducing resource strain on production databases.
- Write advanced SQL from multiple database engines (Oracle / SQL Server / Snowflake / PLSQL) providing the necessary data to support the business, including projects and ad hoc requests.
- Assist the team with automating existing static reporting via Tableau or other BI solutions; including but not limited to writing the SQL extracts, quality assurance of exports, and designing visualizations while managing existing workload.
- Design solutions to novel business needs, gathering requirements from stakeholders, data discovery, and collaborating with EDM and/or data warehouse to create tables or views.
- Build internal solutions such as ETL(s) and API(s) to query multiple database engines and/or find solutions via outside vendors, as needed.
- Outline detailed requirements for the Business Intelligence teams for reports outside of the department's technological stack, I.E. Business Objects.
- Act as liaison between the business and the BI/Data warehouse teams. Communicate existing issues and be the point of contact for the business on major projects or enhancements, including outlining requirements, working sessions, and extensive UAT testing.

FIELD(S) OF STUDY: STEM, Finance, Economics, Industrial Organization, MIS, Business Analytics
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 4 years' experience writing complex SQL scripts, data management, solving novel data requests, quality assurance and visualizations.
COMPETENCIES/SKILLS
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with strong novel problem-solving skills.
- Strong ability to lead technical discussions with data warehouse to translate business requirements and provide feedback to stakeholders on feasibility.
- Strong understanding of data management systems and processes within the ecosystem (source systems, data feeds, reference data management, ETL, Data Warehouses and Marts, data cube design, etc.). End to end knowledge of business intelligence and data warehousing architectures.
- Advanced SQL writing using different database engines to blend or merge divergent datasets on varying levels of granularity with experience on writing API(s) or software. I.E. Data Services, Database Tools.
- Excellent excel skills including functions, PowerPivot, working with large datasets via a VM, etc.
- Basic statistical knowledge, applicable knowledge on writing API(s), Python or R Studio experience preferred.
- Highly analytical with strong critical thinking skills.
