The Senior Developer, BI Data Services involves leading the design, development, and implementation of enterprise data solutions, ensuring robust data systems, and enhancing data consumption capabilities across the organization. The ideal candidate will have expertise in data systems architecture, ETL/ELT development, and modern data technologies, with a strong focus on cloud platforms. This position requires collaboration with various departments, providing technical support, optimizing data queries, and driving business intelligence initiatives to support our data-driven decision-making process. Responsibilities:
- Execute the design, build and implementation of enterprise-grade data solutions for large-scale, multi-tenant data systems and solutions including data warehouses, data marts, and data lakes. Provide data services to applications and integrations.
- Perform complex systems development and design work including logic and architecture design for on-premise and cloud-based data solutions. Produce high-quality, well architected solutions with an upfront focus on testing and long-term support.
- Analyze and identify source-to-target mappings, develop ETL/ELT specifications, and perform ETL/ELT development, deployment, and monitoring for enterprise data systems.
- Executes Data Services strategy utilizing modern data technologies including Cloud data platforms and services (eg. Azure, AWS, GCP, SAP), data pipeline tools, and analytics services.
- Delivers on Business Intelligence & Analytics strategy for assigned domains leveraging SAP Business Warehouse, Business Objects (BW 7.5 on HANA, BO Enterprise, Analysis for Office, Lumira Designer & Discovery and WebI), PowerBI and drive alignment with business partners for execution support.
- Own technical responsibility for assigned BW backend data architecture for SAP and non-SAP data sources.
- Review completion and implementation of system additions and/or enhancements and make recommendations for future development.
- Collaborate with engineering and business stakeholders to understand data requirements. Also coordinate activities to facilitate internal and user acceptance testing.
- Design and build BI reports & queries using applicable SAP, Business Objects, PowerBI, or other existing reporting tools and support query optimization.
- Provide Production support for existing BI applications and systems. Resolves second and third tier Help Desk tickets related to data sources, data warehouses, and reporting solutions; troubleshoot data issues, ETL/ELT chains, and reports. Provides daily technical and functional support as well as during maintenance.
- Maintains day-to-day tracking and follow-up on issues and questions of daily operations, includes tracking, updating, and resolving issues.
- Keeps abreast of tools, methods, and techniques, thereby acting as an internal resource for Data technologies and solutions.
- Participate in the design and planning of projects in conjunction with the external partners and other IT members.
- Responsible for supporting and adhering to data & reporting standards and frameworks ensuring consistency and quality.
- Drive workshops or training sessions with the business user community to further their knowledge and use of Data, Reporting, and Visualization tools.
- Additional duties as required, assigned by supervisor or management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college in related field or equivalent work experience in quantitative and engineering discipline. In lieu of degree, 7+ years of experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience requried. Bachelor of Science or Masters degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or similar fields of study preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in Business Intelligence/Decision Support/Data Engineering/Data Warehousing roles working with multiple disparate, large, complex datasets requried. 7+ years of experience with SAP BW and BI solutions with detailed understanding of SAP BI technology and its application preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of and experience in Data Warehouse concepts (modeling, tuning, maintenance), data modeling, SQL, ETL/ELT technologies.
- 5+ years of proven system/application experience in building SAP BW and BI solutions.
- Experience in business analytics, e.g., enterprise reporting, executive dashboards, scorecards, alerts, subscription push reporting, etc.
- Strong knowledge & experience in SAP BW & HANA modeling, ABAP/4, and AMDP code design and development including ABAP Programs, Custom Objects, and HANA Views.
- Hands-on experience with ABAP to write Datasource Enhancements Function module, extractors Transformation Routines; Experience in writing Transformations using AMDP scripts.
- Strong experience with BI analytical tools (PowerBI or similar) and Business Objects (Analysis for Office AO Reports, WebI, Design Studio) based development integrated with an SAP BW and non-SAP environments (SAP as the primary data source). SAP Datasphere, SAP Analytics Cloud, Tableau a plus.
Preferred
- 3+ years of experience with Cloud data platforms and services building Data Marts/Warehouses/Lakes, Pipelines, and Datasets utilizing Microsoft Azure, AWS, Datasphere.
- Experience with ERP systems and familiarity with Manufacturing industry processes along with Supply Chain
- Experience with modern reporting and analytics tools such as Business Objects, PowerBI, Tableau, Domo, Qlik, Looker, Alteryx.
- Experience in advanced analytics, e.g., corporate performance management, predictive analysis, etc.
- Exposure to cloud architecture for BI, Data Warehousing, Data Marts, Data Lakes, in-memory data exploration tools, and other data warehousing analytics solutions
- Experience managing large volumes of data and designing/building/optimizing for performance.
- Work experience with External Partners or 3rd Parties in an offshore/onshore delivery model.
- Experience working with Python, R, particularly for ETL or Data Science related tasks.
- Ability to Identify, propose and influence technology solutions to improve and maintain optimal data and architecture to support business requirements.
- Some background in data structures, algorithms, and debugging.
Salary Range: $135,000 - $142,000

The final determination of a successful candidate’s starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to location, shift, education, skill, and experience within the job or the industry. The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed In this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates that exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
