of designing and optimizing products that push the boundaries of performance and technology.
As a Senior Design Engineer, you will play a key role in improving the performance of the client’s
products through innovative design and analysis. You will be responsible for developing detailed
solid models, leading design projects, and guiding a team of engineers and technicians. You will
utilize your expertise in simulation tools and hands-on assembly experience to create high-quality,
manufacturable products.
Key Responsibilities:
● Product Innovation: Generate new ideas and solutions to improve product performance,
functionality, and reliability.
● Design Creation: Use SolidWorks to design solid models and assemblies for new products
and modifications to existing products.
● Team Leadership: Lead and mentor technicians, interns, and junior engineers on design,
analysis, and product development projects.
● Product Architecture: Lead the initial product architecture and layout process, ensuring
alignment with customer requirements and design goals.
● Design Analysis: Perform component and system analysis using hand calculations,
software simulations, and experimental results to validate design choices.
● Drawing Creation: Develop and release detailed shop-ready drawings for manufacturing.
● Supplier & Vendor Management: Act as the primary point of contact for machine shops
and suppliers, managing the RFQ process, and overseeing incoming inspection of parts.
● Assembly Oversight: Oversee and participate in hands-on product assembly processes to
ensure that designs are manufacturable and meet quality standards.
● Testing Support: Support product testing efforts to validate performance and reliability.
● Process Development: Create and implement standardized procedures for product design
and analysis to ensure consistency and quality.
● Collaboration & Communication: Present design concepts, test results, and project
progress to management and cross-functional teams.
● Mindset & Attitude: Maintain an open-minded, solution-oriented, and proactive approach to
all aspects of the design and development process.
Helpful Skills:
● Strong communication skills, including the ability to write clear and concise proposals,
reports, and documentation.
● Experience working in a machine shop or prototype environment, with hands-on
familiarity with manufacturing processes.
● Experience with simulation tools like GT Suite, ANSYS, and MATLAB for mechanical,
thermal, and fluid analysis.
Requirements:
● Education: Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
● Experience: 3+ years of professional experience in mechanical design and simulation.
● Technical Expertise:
○ Expert proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modeling and assembly design.
○ Hands-on experience with mechanical, thermal, and fluid simulation tools (e.g.,
ANSYS, MATLAB).
● Problem-Solving Ability: Strong ability to independently solve complex design challenges
and drive projects to completion.
● Team Leadership: Experience leading and mentoring junior engineers and technicians.
● Attention to Detail: Ability to produce precise, high-quality designs and documentation for
manufacturing.
