We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join our Fraud Tech product engineering team. As a member of this team, you will use your analytical skills to identify and prevent fraud risks. You will work with product and engineering partners, as well as risk and policy teams to build solutions that fit product needs.
- Proof is a growing startup. You will get a chance to meaningfully contribute to building new products and services leveraging novel, data driven solutions, wear multiple hats, and closely collaborate within and outside of a small team.
- What you’ll do as the Senior Data Scientist, Fraud Detection at Proof:
- Leverage advanced analytics, machine learning, and statistical methods to detect and mitigate fraudulent activities on Proof platform
- Contribute to large-scale analytical fraud research and implementation projects through all stages
- Partner with product managers, engineers, operational and legal teams to envision and implement best in class data based solutions
- Evaluate fraud cases holistically to identify areas of improvement
- Analyze and incorporate additional signals that continuously improve fraud detection
- Maintain knowledge and understanding of current trends and issues affecting the area of expertise
What were looking for:
- Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in data science with a focus on fraud detection or a similar domain
- Traditional and advanced machine learning techniques and algorithms
- Excellent quantitative and analytical skills; ability to derive patterns, trends and insights, and perform risk/reward tradeoff analysis
- Deep understanding of data management such as data pipeline and data quality
- Experience in building machine learning powered products
- Analytic thought leadership; intellectual curiosity
- Effective communication skills and experience presenting findings to stakeholders
$130,000 - $210,000 a year
This is the expected cash compensation range for this position. The salary offered within this range will be determined based on factors including but not limited to skills, qualifications, experience and location. The total compensation package for this role also includes benefits such as medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability coverage, flexible paid time off, Carrot Fertility, participation in a 401(k) with company match and more!
