Job Summary
Sinco Inc. is seeking a Senior Manager – Data Analytics to lead a team of 2 analysts while actively contributing to data analysis, insights generation, and presentation development. This role blends leadership responsibilities with hands-on work to ensure timely, accurate, and impactful data-driven strategies.
As a senior working manager, you will not only guide your team but also directly analyze data, create compelling insights, and present findings to senior management, sales teams, and external partners. Strong communication and presentation skills are essential, as this position plays a critical role in influencing decision-making at all levels.
This is an on-site role based in Boston, MA.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development:
- Team Leadership: Oversee and mentor a team of three data analysts, providing guidance, training, and development opportunities.
- Goal Setting: Establish clear goals for the analytics team, monitor progress, and conduct regular performance reviews.
- Collaboration: Foster a collaborative, innovative environment that encourages high-quality work and professional growth.
- Operational Oversight: Ensure effective resource allocation and prioritize projects to align with company objectives.
Hands-On Analytics & Insights Generation:
- Extract and analyze POS, direct retailer data , and panel data from various databases and platforms.
- Identify insights and specific opportunities based on analysis of retail and category data and provide recommendations to the account team. Project work will include analytics related to sales reviews, category reviews, overall business trends, assortment etc.
- Conduct ad-hoc analysis and complete ad-hoc category management reports, trend analysis, and special project work for internal / external leaders as necessary.
- Develop dashboards that enable leadership to track the sales of Sinco suppliers and import and quickly understand market trends and opportunities.
Communication & Presentation:
- Hands-On Role: Personally conduct key analyses and create presentations for senior management, sales teams, and supplier partners.
- Lead high-impact presentations to retail customers, supplier partners, and internal stakeholders, positioning Sinco as a category expert.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure data-driven insights inform key strategies.
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Statistics, or a related field.
- 15+ years of experience in retail data and insights, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven ability to balance team leadership with hands-on data analysis and project execution.
- Strong strategic and analytical thinking skills, with a problem-solving orientation.
- Extensive experience analyzing POS, retailer, and panel data to drive sales and share growth. (Numerator, Circana, Nielsen, and retailer POS systems.)
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable, audience-specific insights.
- Experience with Power BI.
- Customer Service orientation.
- Experience with data analytics for retail.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree or equivalent in a related field.
- Delta Training
- Experience with CPG's.
- Experience in the club channel.
