Senior Data Engineer, Platform Services - The Clearing House

Position Summary:

The Senior Data Engineer is responsible for critical platform services and building of components that are used for TCH payment products. As Senior Data Engineer, you will lead the technical direction for engineers in designing, developing, and testing software projects, makes recommendations that can enhance technologies and processes. Your work to guarantee software projects meet quality standards and are completed on time. In addition to establishing and managing technical standards for projects, the candidate also performs specific tasks like helping with testing and troubleshooting software.

Qualifications required:

• Minimum 10 years of relevant IT experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering; graduate degree preferred.
• Payment industry experience (minimum 5 years) required.
• Extensive experience on large scale and systemically important systems.
• Strong architectural knowledge on building supportable services.
• Excellent team leadership skills and experience.
• Strong problem resolution skills.
• Strong testing (functional and non-functional) skills.
• Proven experience on design and build solution runs environment agnostic.
• Proven experience with AWS cloud.
• Professional communication on both verbal and written.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Provide technical leadership and support for services and application built by Platform Services.
• Provide team with assistance with production support, root cause analysis and performance enhancements.
• Review vendor designs and source code to ensure the application meets functional and non-functional requirements.
• Lead the communication with internal and external counterparties.
• Lead design of ancillary Realtime Payments applications (e.g., Data Distribution, Fraud, Reporting, Etc.)
• Build services that will be used for the next generation of payment platforms as they modernize.
• Provide technical direction and supporting to multi-cloud and on-premises deployment and rotation
• Build training units for TCH on Payments and CNI
• Build unit demonstrations for each service created.
• Build out the services team under the VP.

Physical demands and work environment:

Work is generally sedentary in nature. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available.

Travel may be required.
