We are seeking a seasoned Senior Data Engineer to join a dynamic & fast growing team with one of the best PE Firms in the South. This role is ideal for a professional with a strong background in data engineering and a passion for utilizing cutting-edge technology to solve complex business problems. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of building and maintaining ETL/ELT & data pipelines, managing relational databases, and using Python or Scala for programming. Experience in the Oil & Gas, Title & Leases or Financial Services industry is a must.

Responsibilities:
1. Design, construct, install, test, and maintain highly scalable data systems. This is a role with high expectations of hands on design and development.
2. Ensure systems meet business requirements and industry practices.
3. Integrate new data management technologies and software engineering tools into existing structures.
4. Create custom software components and analytics applications.
5. Employ a variety of languages and tools to marry systems together.
6. Recommend ways to improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality.
7. Collaborate closely with data scientists and analysts to define data requirements and develop comprehensive data solutions.
8. Develop and implement data standards, procedures, and best practices.
9. Use Databricks to build robust data pipelines and ELT processes.
10. Work closely with the financial services team to understand and meet their data requirements.
11. Leverage experience in the Oil & Gas industry to manage and analyze titles and leases data.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
2. Minimum 5 years of experience in a data engineering role & expert proficiency with either Python or Scala is required.
3. Design and development of systems for ingestion, persistence, consumption, ETL/ELT, versioning for different data types e.g. relational, document, geospatial, graph, timeseries etc. in transactional and analytical patterns.
4. Analyze and improve the efficiency, scalability, and reliability of our data infrastructure..
5. Experience with big data tools: Databricks, Spark and Hadoop, etc.
6. Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools.
7. Experience with AWS cloud services: EC2, EMR, RDS, Redshift.
8. Experience in the Oil & Gas, Fin Services or Title & Leases industry REQUIRED.
9. Experience managing and scaling data infrastructure on cloud platforms, leveraging cloud-native tools and services.
10. Drive the development of applications related to data extraction, especially from formats like TIFF, PDF, and others, including OCR and data classification/categorization.
11. Experience in data integration, distributed computing, and system design.
12. Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical skills.
13. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
