Job Description
CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Data Architect to join our Business Technology team. This induvial contributes to overall design of the enterprise-wide data/information architecture. Ensures alignment with the overall enterprise architecture and balances the need for access against security and performance requirements. Optimizes new and current database systems, and improves performance by conducting tests, troubleshooting, and integrating new elements.
• Translates strategic requirements into enterprise information architecture, used to guide enterprise solution development and achieve consistency of information assets across the firm. Makes recommendations for adjustments and course corrections to the IT information architecture as necessary. Designs the data architecture to integrate new applications and functionality into the existing IT environment.
• Ensures adherence to data/information architecture standards, policies and procedures for the firms’ data/information structure, attributes and nomenclature of data elements, including Master data, meta-data, database analysis, database design and Business Intelligence (BI) tools, etc. Ensures that accepted data content standards are applied to technology projects, tools and applications.
• Mentors more junior data management system teams and other IT staff on data management system and solution methods, best practices, and applications. Creates and provides firm-wide training and documentation on related systems and tools.
• Designs and tracks the consistent use of a wide variety of processes for business analysis, data acquisition, database management systems optimization, archiving and recovery strategy, load strategy design and implementation, security and change management at the enterprise-wide level.
• Performs other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree.
• 5 years of related experience.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.
