Position: Underwriting Manager
Location: Remote (Colorado residents preferred)
Salary: $80,000 - $95,000 based on experience, plus comprehensive benefits
About the Role
As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of the clean energy sector. Collaborating closely with the Chief Investment Officer, you will lead the implementation of CCEF's underwriting standards and procedures. Your expertise in commercial credit analysis and your passion for clean energy will be instrumental in guiding borrowers through the loan approval process.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement commercial loan underwriting standards and procedures, including building and leading an underwriting team.
- Drive the implementation of a new loan origination software to streamline commercial loan processes.
- Guide borrowers through CCEF's loan underwriting process, offering technical assistance as needed.
- Review commercial loan applications, conduct thorough credit analyses, and assess loans for renewable energy, energy efficiency, and electrification projects.
- Develop and manage financial models, analytics, and tracking sheets for credit analysis.
- Collaborate with CCEF's commercial department, assisting in proposal writing and presentations.
- Work closely with CCEF's loan servicer to ensure seamless loan transitions from underwriting to closing.
- Advocate for our mission in all aspects of your work.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business or finance, with at least 4 years of experience in commercial banking or credit, preferably in a leadership role.
- Strong proficiency in financial modeling and data-driven decision-making.
- Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and develop team members.
- Technical proficiency in MS Excel and loan origination platforms.
- Exceptional relationship-building skills with diverse stakeholders, both virtual and in person.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and adept at managing multiple transactions to meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with clean energy technologies such as energy efficiency, EV infrastructure, building energy management, building electrification, or solar project development.
- Motivated by purpose and passionate about advancing clean energy initiatives.
- Current residency in Colorado preferred.
