Senior Cost Accounting Manager - Peabody - Manufacturing
A publicly-traded company and leading global manufacturer of electronic instruments and electromechanical devices is looking to hire a Senior Cost Accounting Manager to their growing team. The role reports to the Controller and requires someone that possesses strong time management and organizational skills to maintain a high level of analytical insight into manufacturing, operational expenses, product pricing and business unit profitability.
Primary Responsibilities:

Develop and implement cost standards for materials, labor and manufacturing overhead and keep updated in the ERP system

Develop and analyze standard cost report suite to include material usage and manufacturing variances and enable root cause analysis

Monitor and report on inventory levels, production costs, and returns

Conduct regular physical inventory cycle counts and reconciliations

Work closely with operations and supply chain teams to identify cost-saving opportunities

Prepare, review and analyze monthly and annual financial statements in an accurate and timely manner and in line with US GAAP

Assist with annual budgeting and monthly forecasting

Develop and manage cost management systems and policies.

Ensures procedures and internal controls are followed in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley and assist with audit and compliance activities as assigned
Role Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

A minimum of 5+ years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing and equipment/engineering environment

Strong knowledge of inventory cycle counts and cost accounting

Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to create and analyze financial reports and forecasts

The ability to explain complex financial information in a clear and concise manner

Strong communication skills and the ability to work with diverse groups cross-functionally

Detail oriented, organized and a demonstrated focus on process improvement and ability to work on multiple tasks/projects concurrently

Positive attitude, strong work ethic,

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly with Excel. Experience with Power BI is an advantage
-
Experience using Dynamics AX and Visual is an advantage.

CPA or CMA certification is an added advantage.
