Job Details
Monday - Friday 8am to 5pm
Essential Functions
- Perform monthly accounting close and reporting in compliance with GAAP
- Ensure that standard costs and all accounting entries are processed timely and meet the cost improvement objectives.
- Review standard costs for inaccuracies and complete margin reviews.
- Develop, maintain, and update standard costs
- Understand, calculate, and update labor and overhead rates.
- Understand the forming of Bills of Materials as related to finished goods as entered in the accounting software.
- Analyze actual labor, material, and overhead cost
- Prepare cost estimates of new or special products for establishing selling prices and production forecasts.
- Analyze and reconcile the inventory on hand reports to the general ledger and journal entries
- Inventory analysis to determine obsolescence and slow-moving inventory.
- Department lead on all physical inventories.
- Assist with monitoring and continuous improvement in internal controls and standard work procedures
Competencies
- Excellent communication skills – written and verbal.
- Results driven and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet project deadlines within a fast-paced environment.
- Solid understanding of GAAP and internal controls.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- Cost Accounting experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally across multiple sites
- Experience in automating and improving processes to gain efficiency, improve accuracy and produce high-quality work
- Must have a strong cost system and inventory controls background
