Senior Accountant - Boston, MA - Private Equity
A leading middle market private equity firm with over 40B in assets is looking to hire a Senior Accountant to their growing team. The focus of this role will be to assist the Controller in facilitating the close process. The role will work closely with other members of the management company team and with the firm’s third-party administrator, to manage the quarterly close process and to deliver robust financial reporting to senior management through accurate and timely recording of activity in the firm’s accounting systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Key contributor to the quarterly close process, including preparing/reviewing closing, accrual and depreciation entries

Preparing/reviewing monthly balance sheet account reconciliations, P&L trending analysis, and management reporting

Assist external auditors with annual audit and tax team with reporting, filings, and K-1 packages

Play a key role in establishing effective accounting policies, procedures, and internal control framework

Assist with continuous process improvement initiatives, with a focus on the continued development of processes and best practices related to Oracle NetSuite and Concur

Coordinate various work streams with third-party administrator, ensuring that supporting documentation (invoices, approvals, etc.) is delivered timely and in accordance with policy

Assist with preparation of cash, investment, revenue, and expense analysis reports for senior management on a weekly and ad-hoc basis

Assist with generating and reviewing of portfolio company, fund/holding company, and employee billing, including adherence to Management Services Agreements and the firm’s expense allocation policies
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelors in Accounting or Finance with advanced degree or certification a plus

3-6 years of experience in a corporate or public accounting role, preferably in private equity or financial services

Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP requirements

Technologically savvy with advanced MS Excel skills, Oracle NetSuite and Concur experience is a plus
