Objective / Purpose
The overall objective and purpose of the Senior Corporate Accountant is to lead and support the completion of key functions within the monthly financial reporting package and monthly closing process. This role encompasses advanced responsibilities, including managing sales tax filings, intercompany transactions, general ledger reconciliations, and journal entries, as well as providing high-level support for budgeting, forecasting, year-end audits, and financial analysis. The Senior Corporate Accountant will also provide mentorship within the Accounting team and lead special projects to enhance departmental efficiencies and compliance.

Areas of Responsibility (AOR)
Primary areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to the following:
- Lead the preparation and review of monthly financial statements, ensuring accuracy, compliance with GAAP, and adherence to deadlines.
- Analyze and investigate variances, trends, and financial data to provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
- Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports with supporting documentation.
- Facilitate and manage the budgeting and forecasting processes, providing advanced analysis and strategic recommendations.
- Ensure all supporting documentation and justifications for budgets and forecasts are accurate and well-documented.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and audit requirements.
- Develop audit work papers, including confirmations, reconciliations, and other required schedules.
- Implement corrective actions as recommended by audit results to strengthen internal controls.
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations of balance sheet accounts in accordance with GAAP.
- Ensure accuracy and alignment of general ledger accounts with financial reporting standards.
- Oversee the preparation, validation, and filing of sales tax returns.
- Manage intercompany invoicing and reconciliation, ensuring compliance with policies and reporting accuracy.
- Lead and execute special projects aimed at enhancing efficiency, accuracy, and compliance within the Accounting department.
- Continuously assess and improve accounting procedures and systems to align with organizational goals.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior members of the Accounting team.
- Foster collaboration and knowledge sharing to build departmental expertise and bench strength.
- Spot-check inventory counts to ensure accuracy and investigate discrepancies.
- Support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes as needed.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address financial inquiries and provide insights.
- Take ownership of assigned responsibilities and adapt to evolving organizational needs.
- Communicate complex financial concepts effectively to drive understanding and desired outcomes across departments.

- Ability to effectively present information to top management, peers and subordinates

Minimum Qualifications
Education, License, Certifications, Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related experience and/or training; or equivalent - preferred
- 5+ years of experience in Accounting & Finance - required
- 3 + years of relevant work experience in similar scope and title – required
- Experience within luxury brand/markets – required
Work Environment / Conditions

- Must be comfortable working in a shared space, with constant noise, without the use of a private office.
- Must be able to cope with frequent changing priorities and deadlines with a high degree of optimism, professionalism & collaboration.
- Schedules may vary from week to week based on business demands in excess of 40 hours with or without notice.
