Our dynamic engineering firm is seeking a dedicated and experienced Permanent Senior Controls Engineer to join our innovative team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in controls, PLC, and factory operations. This position requires a minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience. As a Senior Controls Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining automation systems and controls for our production machinery and processes.
Responsibilities:
1. Design, develop, and implement control systems (PLC) to ensure efficient and reliable operation of machinery and systems.
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project objectives, system functionality, and design solutions to meet the overall needs of the company.
3. Provide technical leadership in the development and application of advanced control systems and automation technologies.
4. Troubleshoot and resolve issues with controls and systems, ensuring minimal disruption to production operations.
5. Develop and maintain documentation for controls and systems, including diagrams, manuals, and SOPs.
6. Conduct system tests, monitor performance, and make necessary adjustments to optimize efficiency and quality.
7. Train personnel on the operation and maintenance of control systems to ensure optimal performance and understanding.
8. Provide support for factory automation systems, including programming, troubleshooting, and system modifications.
9. Stay current with the latest technologies and trends in control engineering and factory automation.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 5+ years of experience in control engineering, PLC programming, and factory automation.
3. Proficient in PLC programming languages and software such as Allen Bradley, Siemens, or Mitsubishi.
4. Strong understanding of control system theories and principles, including PID loops, control interfaces, and industrial communication protocols.
5. Excellent problem-solving abilities with a strong attention to detail.
6. Proven experience with troubleshooting and improving controls and systems in a manufacturing environment.
7. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technical information to a non-technical audience.
8. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
9. Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
10. A proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues, with a focus on continuous improvement.
