Aegis Worldwide is partnered with a client in the manufacturing industry looking to hire a Senior Controls Engineer in a plant in Bartlett, IL! Responsibilities

· Serving as Controls Engineering lead

· Collaborating with Project Managers to ensure the timely success of every system

· Collaborating internally to ensure timely competition of projects

· Working with installation team in the field to successful startup new systems

· Working with Service Manager to coordinate controls support in the field

· Write PLC/HMI programs from templates and scratch to Matrix and customer specs/standards

· Configure network devices using protocols such as DeviceNet, Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet IP, and more

· Perform startup, testing, and troubleshooting of hardware

· Interfacing and integrating Matrix controls with the controls of manufacturer’s equipment, cameras, and FANUC robots

Please note, there is a travel component to this role, 40% total in a year, but varies quarter by quarter. Some quarters it may feel like 80% and others it may feel like 0%. For the most part, domestic travel only. Maybe an international trip every few years.

Qualifications:

· Degree needed

· 5 years of experience in Controls Engineering

· Ability to write code from based on templates and from scratch

o Experience to adhering internal & client standards for code writing.

· Ability to program HMIs and PLCs

· Strong schematic reading skills.

· Experience leading projects

· Mechanical aptitude

o Experience using hand tool to tinker with machinery out on the shop floor.
