As a Senior Controls Engineer, you will lead a team of controls engineers in bringing advanced machinery to life. This role involves responsibility for project schedules, budgets, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure project success. The ideal candidate is highly organized, driven, and focused on achieving results while contributing to continuous improvement efforts.
Responsibilities:
- Develop the architecture of controls systems, including large, multi-machine systems.
- Program PLCs, HMIs, and robots for cam-operated and indexing machines, often featuring a large count of servo axes.
- Provide guidance to electricians on wiring and code compliance.
- Debug and perform function verification on the production floor, culminating in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).
- Travel domestically and internationally to assist in machine re-commissioning at customer sites, culminating in Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).
- Collaborate with team members to improve standards and processes.
- Lead and mentor a team of controls engineers to achieve project goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 6 years of automation experience.
- Proficiency in Allen Bradley PLCs, HMIs, and servo control systems.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple aspects of a project simultaneously.
- Experience with debugging, FAT, and SAT processes.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
