About the Job
E.Gomez Construction is seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Project Manager to oversee all construction projects in our Southwest Florida (SWFL) location. This role offers a dynamic environment for a skilled individual to contribute to the success of our growing company.
Responsibilities:
- Collaboration and Team Management:
- Collaborate effectively with engineers, architects, clients, and project team members.
- Clearly explain contract and technical matters to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Facilitate clear communication and maintain a positive team environment.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and legal requirements.
- Conduct regular site visits and report project progress and budget to clients.
- Manage property and office space.
- Project Planning and Execution:
- Oversee worksite cleanliness and coordinate 811 inspections.
- Prepare budgets, cost estimates, and work timetables.
- Develop detailed descriptions for quotes and change orders.
- Establish clear timeframes and deadlines for project completion.
- Organize the shop and streamline processes for improved efficiency.
- Conduct weekly meetings with supervisors to track progress and address any concerns.
- Manage project closeouts and punch lists.
- Report daily with a task list via project management software.
- Sales and Subcontractor Management:
- Focus on sales activities related to construction projects within the SWFL region. (Competent Level and Above)
- Hire and delegate tasks to qualified subcontractors. (Competent Level and Above)
- Consult with management for subcontractor pay rates. (Advanced Level)
- Fieldwork:
- Perform various tasks within the project scope, including trash removal, concrete cutting, use of hand tools, permit running, meeting inspectors, hauling materials, driving trailers and trucks. (Advanced Level)
- Maintain transparent time tracking using project management software. (Advanced Level)
- Reporting and Communication:
- Provide weekly progress reports and utilize project management software for full integration with the team.
- Maintain clear communication with the manager and team, providing daily and weekly activity updates through designated software (e.g., Monday.com).
- Communicate punctuality issues (being more than 15 minutes late) to the manager.
- Report any time off requests at least 2 weeks prior to the desired date.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in construction project management.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in project management software and construction tools (e.g., Monday.com).
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to perform manual labor tasks (Advanced Level and Above).
- Commitment to safety regulations and OSHA standards.
