About the Job
Benning is looking for a Commercial Construction Sr. Project Manager with 5 - 7 years working as a PM with a General Contractor to develop Benning's Public Sector Work (ground up and renovation) in various cities, counties and municipalities.
The right person must have prior project management experience who is interested in developing Benning's public work. This person will be responsible for identifying opportunities in Benning area of opportunity, preparing Pre-Qualification Proposals, preparing Requests for Proposals, managing these projects and project management teams to ensure projects are completed in accordance with design, budget and schedule. They will be responsible for devising strategies to increase business in the public sector, and modifying these strategies to drive the business forward to meet established goals.
Job Requirements
Essential Qualifications
Must have experience working as a Commercial Construction Project Manager for a General Contractor or as a Construction Manager for a county, city or municipality
Ensuring projects are completed in accordance with design, budget and schedule.
Have a keen eye for detail and an ability to ensure that all the components for an RFQ and RFP are included in the bid documents
Utilization of analytical skills, creativity, motivation an strategic thinking to achieve team and individual goals.
Understanding of the various construction delivery methods for a variety of public work projects (Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, Fast Track)
Develop relationships with architects with experience in the public work sector
Understanding of the certain minimum procedures that must be followed pursuant to government requirements
Desire to learn how to procure opportunities in the public work sector
Ability to develop construction schedules with critical path and milestones
Understanding of how to develop and manage the project budget and of how decisions impact the profitability of the project
Ability to make independent decisions and to resolve conflict within the project
Experience running multiple construction projects and project teams while developing assistant project managers, assistant superintendents and foremen into future leaders
Professionally represent Benning as the primary interface with Owners, Architects, and Engineers
Effectively communicate, organize, plan and execute
Maintain project analysis and objectivity throughout the project
Demonstrated history of ability to develop strategies to increase business in the public work sector
Competency with computers and various project management computer programs
Five to seven years’ experience in commercial construction
Ability to travel to multiple job sites throughout Georgia as necessary
