Skills
- 7+ years of experience estimating new ground-up commercial projects (e.g., Commercial, Automotive, Education, Healthcare, Senior Living)
- Strong knowledge of cost estimating software and MS Office (preferably ProCore or Bluebeam)
- Ability to estimate multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficiency in change order pricing and negotiation skills
- Capability to review material submittals and request approvals
- Experience attending pre-bid meetings with owners, vendors, and subcontractors
Responsibilities
- Collect all pertinent documents, including property plans, technical drawings, and project specifications
- Study documentation, meet with clients, and inspect the construction site to fully understand project requirements
- Decide on the most appropriate human and material resources for each project
- Obtain multiple quotes and select the most suitable offers
- Negotiate with service providers to secure better prices
- Outline the work plan to estimate the time needed for project completion
- Perform risk assessments to account for potential deviations from the project plan
- Account for resource usage and calculate a reasonable profit margin
- Draft proposals detailing envisaged materials, costs, and time frames
- Meet with clients to discuss their thoughts and concerns about our offers
Qualifications
- Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder
Education Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field
Education Requirements Credential Category
- Professional certifications in estimating or project management are a plus
Experience Requirements
- At least 7 years of relevant experience in construction estimating
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience in leading projects from inception to completion
